After 8 Years, Geelani Offered Friday Prayers, 'Clashes Erupt' | KNO

Srinagar (KNO) After 8 years of house detention Hurriyat (G) Chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani offered congregational Friday Prayers at Jamia Masjid Hyderpora Srinagar for the first time after 2010.

Reports said that Geelani Along with his lietenant Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai and other party members left the residence of Geelani at around 1:00 Pm for prayers. A Day after the police said Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umer Farooq And Yasin Malik are now free Geelani on Friday decided to offer mandatory Friday Prayers at Hyderpora Jamia Masjid. Geelani wasn’t allowed to offer Friday in outside Masjid from past 8 years.After Friday Prayers many people seen outside the Jamia Masjid who were seen chanting pro freedom slogans and anti national slogans Protesters also chanted Pro Zakir Musa Slogans.

Geelani also said that with in couple of days we will announce calemder to ans police statement in which they said yesterday JRL are free now. Soon after Geelani reached home protesters took on streets and started stone pelting on forces police use tear smoke shells to disappear protesters.
